Fashion Is My Topic
Stefff Davis
Fashion is a BIG part of our society in this day and age! Fashion can vary from the UGG boots, Hollister, American Eagle stereotypical 'Preppy' look to the Hot Topic, studded belts, chains, Mohawk, rainbow colored hair, and black clothing 'Punk' type of look. We also have the big chains, side ways hats, big sweat shirts, J's Urban or 'Ghetto' type of look. People often still sport the 'Country' type of look as in work boots, flannel clothing, and blue jeans. The 'Gothic' all black, long coat, and black boots type of look. Also of course, since this is MY type of look there is the 'Juggalo' Psychopathic Records shirts, sweat shirts, Hatchetman chains, jeans, all decked out Hatchetman clothing, face paint, crazy type of look. Those are only a few examples! There are different styles in different countries, but those are the styles I have noticed in my community.
My point here is that there are so many different types of 'fashion' in the USA. While there are so many different fashions, most are expensive. The cost of clothing is outrageous for every different style. Hollister and American Eagle are SO expensive to shop at. Hot Topic is also very expensive. You wouldn't believe how expensive a t-shirt or a sweat shirt is from there! Those hats that are incorporated into the ‘Ghetto’ look are also extremely expensive. They are like 35$ a hat! The ‘Country’ look usually always consists of boots also. Work boots are so expensive, especially if you get the good ones. "I paid 179$ for mine"(Quote from a classmate, Nick Bertelli). The long black coats, which most people into the ‘Gothic’ fashion have, are expensive. Plus they are purchased at gothic stores, which cost a lot and they can also, be purchased at Hot Topic. ‘Juggalo’ clothing is very costly too. You can either get all of you gear (Clothing and accessories) at Hot Topic, or you can get it offline from the official site which is even more expensive then Hot Topic.
Fashion is costly, but the importance is immense. To me fashion is the way you dress to express what you like, and represent your inner self. For me dressing in Hatchet gear is just what I like. If you don't know what a Juggalo is, a Juggalo is someone who listens to Insane Clown Posse and everyone else from Psychopathic records, and follows the Dark Carnival. Basically Juggalism is a religion. You follow a certain set of rules and values, but we believe in god. Anyone who is a Juggalo has Juggalo family. An important thing about my fashion is that by wearing what I wear people know I am a Juggalo, which means that if I am walking down the street in my clothing and another Juggalo sees me they will walk right up to me and give me a hug even if we have never met because we are family. That is the same for a lot of different fashions or groups. My fashion is super important to me, for the previous reasons, but also just because it represents my personality, which is wild. It represents who I am, which is a Juggalo. It also represents what I like, which is Psychopathic Records, my Juggalo family, and my beliefs.
In conclusion, everyone listens to different music, likes different things, and grows up in different environments or cultures, which involves fashion. The USA is extremely diverse and most citizens here take pride in what he or she wears, because it represents, them. =]

Fashion is important in countries all around the world. From the United States, to France, to China, there are many different clothing styles that are considered to be popular. Most people judge others on what they wear and how they present themselves. For example, someone who spent hundreds of dollars for their outfit would be considered more fashionable than someone who bought theirs from a place such as WalMart.
In the United States, there are many stereotypes. Those considered to be preppy would be found at Hollister, Abercrombie, or American Eagle. They are more likely to go all out and buy Ugg Boots and a Chanel handbag. Someone who is a skater would buy their clothing from Pac Sun or Theory; and then there are the gothics who shop at Hot Topic and wear dark colors. These are just a few examples of style choice.
There are also people who wear whatever they want and shop from a variety of stores. I myself don't like to be put into a "category" based on what I wear. You can find me in many different stores, from American Eagle to Pac Sun to Forever 21. Sometimes I'll even find something cute at a place like Target. With new styles coming out every season, it's not worth spending hundreds of dollars for an outfit.
To some people, "high fashion" is very important; but it has its expenses. The hottest trends cost the most money. Ugg Boots are around $100 or more, and a Chanel handbag, depending on the style, could reach $600! It's mostly common to see celebrities with items such as these, but any average person could be found buying them as well. Because retailers and designers make so much profit from these popular items, the fashion industry is one of the biggest in the world.
