Food is universal. A basic necessity of human survival, food not only fuels the human body to produce energy and carry out daily activities, food can also provide pleasure, an outlet for creativity, fun and scrumptious tastes. Everyone has certain foods that they like and dislike, and foods that they associate with particular holidays, events and people. Food is the motivator behind many businesses, incomes, and aids in relationships. Everyone has tasted foods, and need food in their life. Food can also bring families and people together, and we go out for dinner, lunch, breakfast, coffee and all kinds of meals. Food is universal, it is everywhere, eaten by everyone and completely awesome.
Food is different to everyone, and personal to each person. In the United States, teenagers everywhere have been said to live by the staple diet of junk food, soda, French fries and pizza. Peanut Butter and Jelly was a basic staple of many packed lunches growing up. We eat a lot of pizza, and diet soda, as diet foods overtake our country for our obese appearance; we aren’t all overweight though. There are a lot of vegetarians, but also traditional burger and hot dog people too. Many types of ice cream populate our freezers, and different ethnic foods appear everywhere. Pizza places, fast food joints, like the infamous McDonalds and Burger King, and coffee places like small cafes as well as star bucks and more rejuvenate our energies. We live in a big country with diverse tastes in food.
The purpose of this writing proposal is find similarities and differences in teenager’s eating patterns across the world. It can teach us new foods that may be familiar to you, across the world, but unfamiliar to us. Hopefully, we can both learn something new.
